We can cut a whole host of materials:
- Acrylic (for example, Perspex)
- Laser-cuttable rubber
Note that the above are all sheet material. We carry a fair range of different thicknesses and materials in stock, and can order in special stock should your project require.
Maximum size we can cut is 780 x 500mm.
Maximum thickness depends on the materials, but keeping between 3mm and 6mm tends to lead to a peaceful existence.
A word on kerf
It is worth bearing in mind what to expect from a laser cut edge. It will not be completely ‘square’ or perpendicular to the sheet surface, due to how the laser beam is focussed at point of cutting. MDF and plywood can appear ‘scorched’ or darker in colour at the cut edge, and tend to show some discolouration on the sheet surface near the cut edge.
If you are unsure of what to expect when going from on-screen design to physical, cut parts, get in touch and we will help where we can. We recommend that you try a small sample cut before going ahead with a larger run, if you are looking to get lots of parts cut.
